Tech Innovators Network (THiNK) ("THiNK", "we", "us", or "our") operates THiNK+ and is committed to protecting your privacy and giving you meaningful control over your information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information when you use the THiNK+ application, website, THiNK+ Apps, and related services.

1. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you use THiNK+ and which features you choose to enable.

Account information

When you create or use a THiNK+ account, we may collect information such as:

  • Your name.
  • Email address.
  • Username or profile name.
  • Profile photo.
  • Authentication and account identifiers.
  • Other information you choose to add to your profile.

If you sign in using a third-party identity provider, such as Google, we receive information that the provider makes available to THiNK+ according to your authorization and the provider's policies.

Information you provide

We collect information you choose to provide through THiNK+, which may include:

  • Profile information.
  • Posts, comments, messages, or other content.
  • Feedback and reports.
  • Information submitted through THiNK+ Apps.
  • Responses or contributions to tasks and activities.
  • Information provided when contacting support.

Different THiNK+ Apps may request additional information necessary to provide their particular functionality. Where appropriate, additional information or consent will be presented before that information is collected.

Device and technical information

When you use THiNK+, we may automatically receive technical information such as:

  • Device and operating system information.
  • Application version.
  • Network and connection information.
  • IP address.
  • Diagnostic and error information.
  • Security and authentication events.
  • Information about how the service is accessed and used.

We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve THiNK+.

Contacts

Some THiNK+ features may allow you to discover people you know using your contacts.

If you choose to enable contact-based discovery, THiNK+ will request the appropriate device permission before accessing your contacts.

Contact access is optional. You can decline the permission or disable it through your device settings.

Location information

Some features or THiNK+ Apps may use location information when necessary for their functionality.

Where device location is required, we will request the appropriate permission. You can decline or revoke location permissions through your device settings.

THiNK+ may also derive an approximate location from information such as an IP address for purposes such as security, localization, or service operation.

2. How we use information

We may use information to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • Provide THiNK+ and its features.
  • Provide access to THiNK+ Apps and network services.
  • Personalize relevant aspects of your experience.
  • Enable communication and community features.
  • Process contributions, tasks, or other activities you choose to participate in.
  • Provide user and content discovery features.
  • Detect abuse, fraud, security threats, and violations of our policies.
  • Respond to reports and support requests.
  • Maintain and improve the reliability and performance of our services.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We aim to collect and use information only where it is relevant to providing, securing, improving, or administering the services you use.

3. THiNK+ Apps and network services

THiNK+ provides access to THiNK+ applications and services.

A THiNK+ App may process information for a specific purpose, such as participation in a project, event, community, research activity, or other service.

Where an App requires information beyond what is ordinarily needed by THiNK+, the App may provide additional information about:

  • What information it requires.
  • Why the information is required.
  • How the information will be used.
  • Any consent or permissions that are required.

THiNK+ may also connect to different THiNK+ Nodes. Depending on the service you use, information may be processed by the node responsible for providing that service.

Where another organization independently operates a THiNK+ Node or THiNK+ App, that organization may have its own privacy responsibilities and may provide additional privacy information applicable to its services.

4. How information is shared

We do not make your private personal information publicly available unless you choose to share it through a feature designed for that purpose.

We may share or make information available in the following circumstances.

With other users

Information you choose to publish, such as your public profile or public content, may be visible to other THiNK+ users or visitors depending on the feature and its visibility settings.

With service providers

We may use service providers and infrastructure partners to help provide services such as hosting, authentication, storage, communications, security, and diagnostics.

They may process information as necessary to provide the relevant services and subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

With THiNK+ Apps and THiNK+ Nodes

Information may be provided to a THiNK+ App or THiNK+ Node when necessary to perform an action you request or provide a service you choose to use.

The information provided should be limited to what is appropriate for that interaction.

For safety and legal reasons

We may preserve, access, or disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law or valid legal process.
  • Protect the rights and safety of users or others.
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and other policies.
  • Address child-safety concerns in accordance with our Child Safety Standards.

5. Data security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

Information transmitted between THiNK+ and our services is protected using appropriate encryption in transit.

No information system can provide absolute security. We therefore evaluate and improve our security practices as the platform evolves.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide THiNK+, maintain security and integrity, comply with applicable legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Different categories of information may require different retention periods.

When information is no longer required, we may delete or anonymize it in accordance with our operational and legal requirements.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the ability to:

  • Access certain information associated with your account.
  • Correct or update your information.
  • Withdraw optional permissions.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing where applicable.
  • Request information about how your personal information is processed.

Some information can be managed directly through THiNK+ or your device settings.

You can also request deletion of your THiNK+ account through our Account Deletion page.

Certain information may be retained after a deletion request where required by law or necessary for legitimate purposes such as security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement.

8. Children's privacy and safety

THiNK+ takes the privacy and safety of children seriously.

Our services must not be used to exploit, abuse, or endanger children. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) are strictly prohibited.

Please review our Child Safety Standards for information about our child-safety rules and reporting procedures.

Where a service is specifically made available to children, we will apply applicable age, consent, privacy, and safety requirements.

9. International and distributed processing

THiNK+ services may operate across different locations and jurisdictions.

As a result, information may be processed outside the country in which you are located when necessary to provide a service you use.

Where applicable, we take appropriate measures to protect personal information when it is transferred or processed across jurisdictions.

10. Third-party services

THiNK+ may interact with third-party services, such as identity providers or external websites.

Those services may process information according to their own privacy policies. THiNK is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third-party services.

We encourage you to review their policies before providing information to them.

11. Account and data deletion

You may request deletion of your THiNK+ account and associated personal information.

Requests can be initiated through our Account Deletion page.

When an account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize associated personal information unless retention is required or permitted for purposes such as:

  • Compliance with applicable law.
  • Security and fraud prevention.
  • Resolving disputes.
  • Enforcing our agreements.
  • Protecting the rights and safety of users or others.

Some content or information may also have been provided to an independently operated App or THiNK+ Node. Where another organization independently controls that information, additional deletion procedures may apply.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as THiNK+, our practices, or applicable legal requirements evolve.

When we make material changes, we will update the date shown at the top of this policy and provide additional notice where appropriate.
