THiNK+ Community Guidelines

Standards for safe, respectful, and constructive participation across the THiNK+ community.

Effective date
September 13, 2026
Last updated
September 13, 2026

Tech Innovators Network (THiNK) ("THiNK", "we", "us", or "our") operates THiNK+ and wants it to be a safe, open, and constructive environment for people, communities, applications, and services.

These Community Guidelines establish the standards we expect everyone to follow when participating in THiNK+.

They apply to content and interactions on THiNK+, including profiles, posts, comments, messages, live experiences, groups, and other user-generated content where applicable.

1. Treat people with respect

THiNK+ should be a place where people can participate without being subjected to abuse or intimidation.

Do not:

  • Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate others.
  • Encourage others to target or harass someone.
  • Repeatedly contact someone in an abusive or unwanted manner.
  • Shame or humiliate people through targeted abusive content.
  • Promote hatred or dehumanization of people based on protected characteristics.
  • Make credible threats of violence or encourage violence against others.

Disagreement, criticism, debate, and challenging ideas are permitted. Targeted abuse and threats are not.

2. Keep children safe

Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM) are strictly prohibited on THiNK+.

You must not use THiNK+ to create, share, request, store, promote, facilitate, or direct others to CSAM or to sexually exploit, groom, solicit, traffic, or otherwise endanger a child.

Suspected violations may result in immediate restrictions on content or accounts and may be reported to appropriate authorities or designated organizations where required by applicable law.

See our Child Safety Standards for our child-safety requirements and reporting procedures.

3. Do not promote violence or dangerous activity

Do not use THiNK+ to:

  • Make credible threats of physical harm.
  • Encourage or coordinate violent attacks.
  • Celebrate or encourage serious acts of violence against identifiable victims.
  • Recruit people to participate in violent criminal activity.
  • Provide content intended to facilitate imminent serious physical harm.

Content discussing violence for legitimate purposes such as news, education, research, documentation, or public-interest discussion may be permitted when the context makes that purpose clear.

4. Do not exploit or endanger others

THiNK+ must not be used to facilitate exploitation or serious harm.

Prohibited activity includes:

  • Human trafficking or exploitation.
  • Sexual exploitation.
  • Non-consensual intimate content.
  • Sextortion or sexual blackmail.
  • Encouraging or facilitating serious self-harm.
  • Deliberately exposing another person to a credible risk of serious harm.

We may take immediate action where we reasonably believe someone's safety is at risk.

5. Respect privacy

Do not share another person's sensitive or private information without appropriate authorization.

This includes information such as:

  • Authentication credentials.
  • Private communications obtained without authorization.
  • Financial account information.
  • Government identification information where disclosure could create a meaningful risk of harm.
  • Precise private location information.
  • Other sensitive personal information published for the purpose of harassment, intimidation, fraud, or harm.

Do not attempt to obtain another person's private information through deception, unauthorized access, or coercion.

For information about how THiNK handles personal information, see our Privacy Policy.

6. Be authentic

Do not deliberately misrepresent who you are in order to deceive or harm others.

You must not:

  • Impersonate another person or organization deceptively.
  • Create accounts for fraudulent purposes.
  • Falsely claim affiliation with THiNK, THiNK+, a THiNK+ Node, or another organization.
  • Use coordinated deceptive behavior to manipulate users or platform systems.

Parody, commentary, pseudonymous participation, and community identities may be permitted when they are not used deceptively or fraudulently.

7. No fraud, scams, or manipulation

Do not use THiNK+ to deceive people for financial, personal, or other improper gain.

This includes:

  • Fraud and scams.
  • Phishing.
  • Fraudulent fundraising campaigns.
  • Deliberately deceptive financial solicitations.
  • Manipulation of incentives or rewards.
  • Coordinated attempts to falsify participation, contributions, engagement, or results.
  • Misrepresentation intended to obtain money, data, services, or access.

Where THiNK+ Apps offer incentives or rewards, participants must follow the rules of the relevant programme.

8. Keep the platform secure

Do not interfere with THiNK+, THiNK+ Apps, THiNK+ Nodes, or other systems connected to the service.

You must not:

  • Distribute malware or malicious code.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
  • Circumvent security or access controls.
  • Abuse APIs or automated interfaces.
  • Intentionally disrupt the availability of services.
  • Exploit vulnerabilities to harm users or systems.

If you discover a security vulnerability, report it responsibly rather than exploiting it.

9. Do not spam or manipulate engagement

THiNK+ should support genuine participation.

Do not:

  • Send repetitive or unsolicited content at abusive scale.
  • Operate accounts primarily for spam.
  • Artificially inflate engagement or participation.
  • Use unauthorized automation to manipulate platform activity.
  • Repeatedly post misleading links or promotions.
  • Coordinate inauthentic activity intended to manipulate platform systems.

Legitimate automation provided or authorized by THiNK+, THiNK+ Apps, or THiNK+ services is not prohibited by this rule.

10. Share content responsibly

You are responsible for content you contribute to THiNK+.

Do not knowingly submit content that:

  • You do not have the right to share.
  • Violates another person's intellectual property rights.
  • Is deliberately presented in a materially deceptive manner for the purpose of causing harm.
  • Violates these Guidelines or applicable law.

When contributing data, media, annotations, research material, or other content through a THiNK+ App, additional project-specific rules may apply.

11. Civic and public-interest participation

THiNK+ may support civic, community, research, governance, and other public-interest applications.

Users may express opinions, criticize institutions and public figures, discuss public affairs, and participate in legitimate civic debate.

Civic or political context does not, however, exempt activity from these Guidelines.

Do not use THiNK+ to:

  • Threaten or intimidate voters, candidates, officials, or other participants.
  • Interfere with another person's lawful participation through threats or coercion.
  • Fraudulently impersonate an electoral authority, candidate, public institution, or civic organization.
  • Coordinate illegal activity intended to interfere with a civic or electoral process.

THiNK+ does not require users to agree with one another. We distinguish disagreement and legitimate political expression from behavior that creates a meaningful safety, fraud, or integrity risk.

12. THiNK+ Apps and network services

THiNK+ provides access to THiNK+ applications and services.

Individual THiNK+ Apps, communities, projects, or THiNK+ Nodes may establish additional participation rules appropriate to their purpose.

These may include requirements concerning:

  • Data quality.
  • Research participation.
  • Contributions and validation.
  • Community moderation.
  • Incentive eligibility.
  • Professional or organizational participation.

These additional rules supplement these Community Guidelines and cannot override THiNK+ platform-wide safety requirements.

Some Apps, communities, or THiNK+ Nodes may be independently operated. Their operators may enforce additional rules for services under their control.

13. Reporting violations

If you encounter content, an account, or an interaction that you believe violates these Guidelines, use the available Report or feedback functionality within THiNK+.

When reporting something, provide enough information for us to identify and assess the relevant activity where possible.

For immediate threats to someone's physical safety, contact the appropriate local emergency services or law-enforcement authority.

For suspected child sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming, or CSAM, see our Child Safety Standards.

14. How we enforce these Guidelines

When THiNK identifies a potential violation, we may consider factors including the nature of the content or conduct, severity and likelihood of harm, context, account history, and applicable law.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

  • Remove content.
  • Restrict access to content.
  • Issue a warning.
  • Restrict particular features.
  • Restrict participation in an App or community.
  • Temporarily suspend an account.
  • Permanently terminate an account.
  • Take action against related accounts used to evade enforcement.
  • Preserve information where required or permitted by law.
  • Refer matters to appropriate authorities where required or appropriate.

Severe violations may result in immediate action without prior warning.

Not every report results in enforcement. Content or behavior that someone finds offensive, controversial, or disagreeable does not necessarily violate these Guidelines.

15. Enforcement across THiNK+ services

THiNK+ operates across its applications and network services.

A violation may therefore affect access to particular content, an App, a community, a node, a feature, or the broader THiNK+ account depending on the nature of the violation and which service is responsible for enforcement.

Where another organization independently operates an App or THiNK+ Node, that organization may be responsible for moderation and enforcement within the services it controls.

THiNK may separately take action affecting access to THiNK+ where conduct violates these platform-wide Guidelines.

Where appropriate, enforcement should be proportionate to the nature and severity of the violation.

16. Appeals and mistakes

Moderation decisions can sometimes be incorrect or lack important context.

Where an appeal or review mechanism is available, you may ask for an enforcement decision to be reviewed.

THiNK may restore content or access when we determine that an enforcement action was made in error or is no longer appropriate.

17. Relationship to other THiNK+ policies

These Community Guidelines form part of the rules governing use of THiNK+.

You should also review our:

  • Terms of Service
  • Privacy Policy
  • Child Safety Standards

Where these Guidelines conflict with the Child Safety Standards on a matter involving child safety, the Child Safety Standards take precedence.

18. Changes to these Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines as THiNK+, community needs, or applicable requirements evolve.

Material updates will be reflected on this page together with an updated revision date.
